A poker player since age five, Lee "Final Table" Nelson has spent years living up to his nickname. Lee has nearly 50 final table appearances at big poker events from around the world.
Born in the United States and now living in New Zealand, Lee Nelson travels the world in search of as many final tables as he can find. In addition to playing poker, Lee "Final Table" Nelson stays busy with poker-related activities outside of the game.
Nelson co-authored two books with Blair Rodman the first titled "Kill Phil: The Fast Track to Success in No-Limit Hold'em Poker Tournaments," and the follow up “Kill Everyone.” The books are respected as two of the best poker strategy manuals around. He has also written a book for those wanting to try poker for the first time – “Let’s Play Poker.”
Lee Nelson was also the poker expert co-host of the Australian TV show Joker Poker. Joker Poker was a prime time series shown on Australian television that pitted comedians against each other in poker games. Comedians compete in each episode to win money for their favourite charity.
Nelson is a regular on the Australasian poker tournament circuit, having won Pot Limit/No Limit Speed Poker and the Seven Card stud events at the 2005 Crown Australian Poker Championship. His biggest win to date was at the 2006 Aussie Millions Poker Championship where he made five final tables (yes that's right, five final tables!) and won the main event for an impressive $1.43 million. Lee bested a field of 417 players that included a large list of pros.
When "Final Table" is not spending time in the poker world, he enjoys meditating, weight-training, walking, and swimming.
