Joe moved to Australia from Lebanon when he was six years old and has lived in Melbourne ever since. From a young age Joe has always had a job and a fiercely strong entrepreneurial drive and work ethic.
Over a 13-year period Joe carved out a career as a chiropractor and owned his own successful practice. However, in 2002 Joe developed a rare medical condition that prevented him from using his hands in the way he needed to as a chiropractor. Unable to continue in his regular profession Joe worked as a mortgage broker and began to take his hobby of poker playing more seriously.
In 2005 with the support of his family, Joe purchased his $10,000 seat into the World Series of Poker tournament. He won the tournament beating 5,618 other players.
Joe now travels the world poker circuit tournament as an ambassador for his sport and his country.
Joe is a dedicated husband and father to four children and enjoys spending time with his family, friends and playing golf when not playing poker.
