Joe is looking for someone with great poker skills and star qualities whocan be an ambassador for poker.
Joe lives by a set of principles, a ‘code’ that brings him success in life, in business and at the poker table; this is how Joe will judge who is to be his protégé throughout the series.
Eleven contestants will live, play and compete against each other in a series of challenges that embody Joe’s code. These life skills are also essential at the poker table.
Throughout the show Joe’s good friend Lee Nelson - fellow professional poker player and author of poker strategy book, will act as his eyes and ears on the ground relaying information back to Joe.
At the end of each episode a contestant will be eliminated by Joe based on a combination of how they performed at the challenge and at the poker tournament.
The eventual winner of The Poker Star will travel with Joe to the world’s best poker tournaments including EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo and the same event Joe won in 2005 – the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, they will also take home $100,000 in cash.
